Brisbane Roar stand atop the A-League ladder after an electrifying 2-1 win over the Perth Glory earlier this afternoon.

Fans were glued to the action on the pitch from the opening whistle, as the Roar controlled possession and patiently prodded at the Perth 18-yard area, while some skillful combinations from the visitors’ playmakers saw some great chances created for Kenny Lowe’s men.

Despite the chances though, the deadlock was not broken until the 52nd minute through a Jamie Maclaren finish from close-range. The home side’s advantage was then doubled on the hour-mark, when substitute Henrique’s rocketing strike from the top of the box leaving Ante Covic stranded. Perth were given a lifeline through their own substitution, however, after a sublime ball from Marc Warren found Diego Castro, who setup Hagi Gligor to score within seconds of entering the game.

Feelings were mixed over social media after the game, with many Perth fans still appreciating the game’s quality and their team’s efforts, while Brisbane supporters continue to enjoy the John Aloisi-inspired renaissance.
