Liverpool were frustrated after a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their round of 32 Europa League tie away to Augsburg.
The first half offered very little in the way of clear-cut scoring opportunities, as both teams defended resolutely in a cagey match.
After the interval the away side dominated proceedings, with Augsburg camped in their own half soaking up relentless amounts of pressure.

On 54 minutes, Liverpool missed a golden opportunity to take a lead in the tie when Daniel Sturridge flashed a shot from point-blank range wide of the upright, following a superb square ball from James Milner.
Late on Ji Dong-won smashed a left-footed drive into the woodwork, as both teams had to settle for a share of the spoils before the return leg at Anfield next week.

FT: Augsburg 0-0 #LFC – Disappointing. An now the 2nd leg, 3 days before the Cup Final, means we still have a big job on, which is not ideal

Better 2nd half. Ideally you want that away goal. It could be a problem if they score, not free scoring at home but still confident.. #LFC

Poor poor poor. Lack of urgency! We don't play for a week so no excuse for lackluster performance #LFC

A classic 0-0 away in Europe, 1970's vintage. That was a very light workout, no injuries, more game time for the returning players. #LFC

Didn't see the match, but control our own destiny win at home and move on. Can't ask for much more #LFC #YNWA

0-0 draw away from home in Europe is a good result but I would've wanted a 1-0 win to get some pressure off for the return leg #lfc

Such a boring game. Oh well guess we still have a good chance to advance to the last 16 next week. Need to improve on performance tho #LFC

The thing is that is pretty much our full strength side.. That shows how much surgery this squad needs!
