Monk needs January signings
Before the season started, Monk’s signings seemed good enough for repeating a successful term. The manager kept all the best of the last season’s squad and added more quality with new players, especially Andre Ayew. But, as the campaignn is developing, it is obvious Swansea need fresh blood.

Bafetimbi Gomis was on fire in the first four matches, but his poor positioning is often too big a problem. They will definitely need a new striker, as Eder is obviously not good enough to replace the Frenchman when out of shape. Two very similar strikers leave Monk without new options when in need of changing things around. The Welsh club should also look around for new creative attacking-midfielder, as Sigurdsson often looks lost on the pitch, making no impact in 10 out of 12 matches this season.
