Could Christian Eriksen play a more central role?

Christian Eriksen is key in the Spurs midfield in terms of build-up play and set pieces. Along with Mousa Dembele in the middle, the pair is almost always part of the resulting goals.

However, while Eriksen is useful out on the left, he seems to feel more comfortable and productive playing in the centre. That way the Dane can be more involved with possession and bringing the ball forward.

Giroud needs to be more deadly from close range

The 29-year-old had several headed chances that really should have found their target. The Frenchman failed to capitalise from close range more than once, specifically inside the six yard box, when he hit the bar.

Gibbs, a left-back, came on and produced Arsenal’s only goal, putting the striker to shame. Although Gibbs was pushed forward (and it obviously worked well) Giroud needed to replicate his stunning goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday.

Perhaps the team and the striker were a bit tired from their 5-1 thrashing away to the German giants.
