Manchester United have officially announced that Paul Pogba has re-joined the club in a world record transfer from Juventus. The deal is reportedly worth €85 million, which eclipses the previous record fee of €80 million that Real Madrid paid to secure winger Gareth Bale from Tottenham.

West Ham have enjoyed a productive day in the market by securing a signing at either end of the pitch. First came the unveiling of fullback Arthur Masuaku from Greek giants Olympiakos – the 22-year-old links up with the Hammers on a four-year deal and is set to enjoy first chance at the left-back spot with Aaron Creswell injured.

The Hammers’ biggest news of the day came when they announced they had signed Andre Ayew from Swansea for a club record fee. The 26-year-old enjoyed a strong maiden campaign in the Premier League last season, having joined the Swans just last summer.

Sky Sports are claiming that Manchester City are willing to listen to offers for French midfielder Samir Nasri this summer. Italian clubs’ AC Milan, Inter Milan and Roma are all interested in the player and will need to pay around £17 million for the 29-year-old winger.

Arsenal are in desperate need of experienced centre-backs heading into the new season, following injuries to Per Mertesacker and Gabriel. The Daily Mirror suggests that Shkodran Mustafi and Jonny Evans are two players that could arrive in the coming days before the Premier League begins this weekend.

In more news from the Emirates, Gazzetta World is reporting that the Gunners remain interested in Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi. Arsene Wenger is ready to offer Oliver Giroud plus £30 million to secure the striker, yet ESPN rumours that the North Londoners will face competition from Chelsea – who have given up home of re-signing Romelu Lukaku this summer.

Everton boss Ronald Koeman still has an eye on Swansea captain Ashley Williams speculates the Daily Mirror, despite already having a £10 million bid rejected for the player. The Toffees are on the lookout for defensive options this summer, with John Stones set to join Manchester City.

There has been even more bad news on the transfer front for the Merseysiders, with the Guardian rumouring they have seen a bid for Yannick Bolasie rejected. Crystal Palace are holding out for a fee of £30 million, with Everton having bid just £18 million.

The Foxes are reportedly close to yet another summer signing according to reports in the Leicester Mercury. The reigning champions are said to be closing in on a deal for Spanish striker Lucas Perez from Deportivo La Coruna.
