EPL Transfer Talk – 22 July – Romelu Lukaku set for Chelsea reunion?

Chelsea are reportedly interested in bringing Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge according to the Liverpool Echo. The Merseyside publication is reporting a £50 million bid is in the works for the Belgian international, although the Toffees value him at £65 million.

Manchester City are leading the race to sign Brazillian youngster Gabriel Jesus suggests the Manchester Evening News. The 19-year-old striker is also wanted by cross-town rivals United, as well as both Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

In a very busy day for West Brom in the rumour mill, the Birmingham Mail is reporting the Baggies have yet to make an official bid for reported target Ciaran Clark. The Aston Villa central-defender is reported to have a £5 million release clause in his contract, and if matched would allow him to return to the Premier League for the upcoming season.

In further news for Tony Pulis’ side, the club has reportedly joined Sunderland in the race to sign Benjamin Moucndjo from French club Lorient claims the Chronicle. The 27-year-old forward scored 13 goals in 31 Ligue 1 last season and he could bring much needed scoring power to the Baggies.

The third and final rumour of the day coming out of the Hawtorns sees their first bid for Jeffrey Schlupp rejected by Leicester City. The Leicester Mercury reports the Baggies will need to raise their initial bid of £9 million if they are to secure the fullback ahead of the new season.

Watford have made their fifth signing of the summer by confirming the capture of Brice Dja Djedje from French club Marseille. The 25-year-old will add extra depth to the defence of the Hornets, primarily featuring as a right wing-back during his playing career.

The Watford Observer is also rumouring the Hornets are interested in signing Sofiane Boufal from Lille before the end of the transfer window. Claims are the club want to make a move for the midfielder who scored 11 goals in Ligue 1 during 2015-16.

Crystal Palace are hoping to secure a deal for 30-year-old striker Moussa Sow according to French publication L’Equipe. The Eagles are said to want to bring the striker in on a season-long from Al-Ahli of the United Arab Emirates.

Staying in London, and German publication Bild is claiming three London Premier League clubs are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund defender Matthias Ginter. Arsenal, Tottenham and West Ham could battle it out for the 22-year-old who is currently valued at £10-12 million by the German giants.

Swansea City are in talks with Marseille over a possible loan move for Bafetimbi Gomis, who struggled last season. TalkSPORT is reporting the Swans would allow the striker to return to his native home if the French club are to cover 50% of his wages.
