Liverpool continued on their good run of form with a convincing 4-0 victory in the Merseyside Derby at Anfield.

But who were the most influential players on the night?

James Milner (Liverpool) – He may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but Milner has certainly made an impact up on Merseyside for the Reds. His crossing from open play saw him gain another two more assists to take his total up to 11 for 2016 in all competitions. The two balls in that led to Mamadou Sakho and Divock Origi scoring were picture perfect. He led by example and pressed like a Jurgen Klopp player should. He was a worthy man of the match.

EPL – What We Learned – Liverpool 4 Everton 0

Mamadou Sakho (Liverpool) – When Liverpool were required to defend, Sakho was flawless. He dealt with the threat of Romelu Lukaku comfortably and despite being an unorthodox defender, he continues to show why he has become Liverpool’s number one centre-back. To add to a stellar defensive performance, he also chipped in with a goal.

Philippe Coutinho (Liverpool) – Without a doubt one of Liverpool’s most valuable players, and despite not being at his absolute best he still managed to impact another big fixture. His goal rounded off what was a solid performance from the little Brazilian and his overall play was too much for Everton to handle at times.
