An unconvincing performance from Stoke City was still enough for them to get a 1-0 win over Swansea City at Liberty Stadium early this morning.
Early in the match Stoke midfielder Bojan expertly dribbled into the penalty box where centre-back Ashley Williams committed a foul on the former Barcelona player. Even Williams agreed with the referee’s call, not even displaying the slightest complaint. Bojan coolly placed the spot-kick in the back of the net.
After the break, Jonjo Shelvey had the hosts’ best chance to score with a strike that went through the legs of goalkeeper Jack Butland, but was agonisingly denied by the post. Marko Arnautovic also made a great run and got onto a ball from Xherdan Shaqiri, but he put the shot wide.
