Swansea City and Bournemouth drew 2-2 in an exciting match at the Liberty Stadium, where Andre Ayew and Joshua King shined for the two teams on Saturday evening.

Swansea seemed disorientated after only 26 minutes. The Cherries took the lead when King broke the deadlock, scoring his first goal in 11 matches. Swansea’s defence was poor and the space left to the visitors was exploited. Dan Gosling made it 2-0 when Bournemouth produced a swift counter-attack after Leon Britton’s mistake.

Gary Monk’s side managed to get back on track relatively quickly. Andre Ayew scored a great back-heel goal only two minutes later, after Jonjo Shelvey assisted him with a header. Bournemouth were waiting for the assistant referee to raise the flag for offside, but the goal stood. Five minutes before the break, Ayew was fouled in the box and Shelvey slotted the ensuing penalty for 2-2. The second half did not bring as many opportunities and both teams had to settle for a draw.

Swansea City

Lukasz Fabianski – 6: Was not guilty for conceding two goals, mostly well positioned.

Kyle Naughton – 6.5: Played well defensively, with three tackles and interceptions, adding five clearances to his tally.

Kyle Bartley – 6: Had to react better when his team was conceding goals, though he had seven successful clearances.

Ashley Williams – 6.5: Seemed shaky early into the match, but later improved with eight interceptions and nine clearances in key areas.

Neil Taylor – 6: Conceded too many crosses and could have reacted better prior to the visitors’ second goal.

Leon Britton – 5: Had a poor first half. His slip produced a counter-attack which led to Bournemouth’s second goal.

Ki Sung-yueng – 6: Seemed quiet for most of the time. Did not bring much with his decent display.

Wayne Routledge – 5.5: No impact on the game in the attacking third, which Swansea very much needed.

Jonjo Shelvey – 7: Assisted Ayew for Swansea’s first goal and scored the penalty afterwards.
