A goal apiece in the space of  a minute saw a stalemate at the King Power Stadium, a fair result on the balance of play.

The first half did not live up to the pre-game hype surrounding this fixture, with the heat appearing to play role. Play was often at a slow tempo and few chances were created between the two sides, with Tottenham not turning a significant possession advantage in to any meaningful threat.

The second half proved to be more open and much more exciting, with Deli Alli opening his Spurs account, before Riyad Mahrez equalised almost instantaneously.

The draw sees Leicester atop the Premier League once again, continuing their great form, while Tottenham again lament letting a winning position slip.

Leicester City

Kasper Schmeichel – 5: Was not required often but was tidy enough. At times his distribution let him down.

Ritchie De Laet – 5: Provided a threat going forward at times but was occasionally shaky in possession.

Robert Huth – 6: Nullified the threat of Harry Kane brilliantly thoughout. The partnership between he and Wes Morgan was extremely important.

Wes Morgan – 6: As with Huth, defended well and proved difficult to beat all day.

Jeffrey Schlupp – 6 – The contest between Schlupp and Walker was a fascinating one, with the Leicester man performing well. His pace was very important in coping with the threat of Walker and Dembele.

Mark Albrighton – 6: Not as effective as the lofty standards he has set so far this season, but still performed well, and his delivery was of good quality when given the chance.

Danny Drinkwater – 5: Passed the ball well when given the opportunity to do so. Was not able to see much possession due to Tottenham’s dominance in that aspect.

Andy King – 5: Produced one of the better efforts on goal for Leicester early.

Riyad Mahrez – 8: Clearly man of the match. Produced a piece of individual brilliance to immediately level the game for the Foxes.

Jamie Vardy – 7: Had little opportunity on the ball but often looked to get in behind the Tottenham defence. Always looked dangerous on the counter.

Shinji Okazaki – 7: Limited opportunities as with Vardy, but is a tireless worker for the team and was threatening on the break.

Substitutes

N’Golo Kante – N/A: Came on for Albrighton to shore up the middle of the park. Solid when required.

Gokhan Inler – N/A: The first look for the Leicester faithful at their high-profile Swiss signing. Will see much more of him throughout the season.

Leonardo Ulloa – N/A: Came on at the death when Leicester were looking to take some time out of the game.

Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris – 7: Was not required for much of the game but was outstanding when called in to action. Close-range saves and speed off the line were crucial for Tottenham.

Kyle Walker – 6: A good battle with Schlupp. At times defended quite well, but could be a little careless in possession.

Toby Alderweireld – 5 : Not helped by his centre-half partner but hardly made a mistake.

Jan Vertonghen – 3: One of the poorer games Vertonghen will play. Made an error early with a failed clearance, should have given away a penalty on Mahrez and was beaten too easily for the goal. Spurs need much more from one  of their leaders in upcoming games.

Ben Davies – 4: Looked shaky, however was given the difficult task of defending Mahrez. Was given little help from teammates, but looked all at sea at times.

Mousa Dembele – 6: Provided the biggest threat for Tottenham early, however lacked any real quality on the end of his efforts. Drifted out of the game as it wore on.

Eric Dier – 5: Struggled to make an impact in holding midfield, with his passing letting him down at times. Looks better at centre-half.

Ryan Mason – 5: Sloppy at times and his passing lacked tempo. However he did try to get forward on occasion.

Nacer Chadli – 5: Poor end product for most of the game, often wasteful when in goalscoring positions. Did provide the ball for Alli’s goal, however.

Erik Lamela – 5:  The stats will say Lamela created the most chances of anyone on the pitch, but he was largely a passenger, especially in the first half. Failed to fill the boots of Eriksen in his absence.

Harry Kane – 6: Was given very little supply throughout, but worked tirelessly for the team. At times looked threatening but was well held.

Substitutes

Dele Alli – 7:  Opened the scoring with a great run into the far post to nod the ball home. Almost scored a second and had a great impact when he came on.

Tom Carroll – N/A: Had little impact on the game when he came on in place of Dembele.

Nabil Bentaleb – N/A: Came on in the 88th minute and had little to do with proceedings.
