Wellington Phoenix general manager David Dome says the a resolution is drawing closer in the club’s much publicised and long-running licence saga.

The Phoenix’s future has been up in the air for some time, with both Wellington and the FFA appearing to have reached an impasse in negotiations.

However, Dome says he is pleased with where talks like and that the story is close to reaching its end.

“We are (reaching an outcome). I know it seems like it’s been glacial progress to date, but we’re continuing negotiations with FFA, they’re going well, the negotiations are going on in good faith,” Dome told the Daily Football Show.

“We’re pleased with where they’re at. We’re not a million miles away, that’s for sure. “We’re certainly a lot closer than where we were a couple of weeks ago.

“I don’t think it’s that much further and I think we’ll have a resolution.

“There’s till some work to do, no doubt about it, and these things are never done until they’re done, but like I say, we’re moving towards a resolution.

“Both parties are keen to see it happen.

“I’m heartened by how negotiations are going and hopefully we’ll get some resolution soon.”
