Goals from Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi have secured a convincing 2-0 win for Arsenal at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Everton
Joel Robles – 5.5: Did the right thing trying to deny Welbeck by making himself big. Distribution was a little on the shoddy side, however.
Seamus Coleman – 5.5 : Started like a house on fire but attacking influence faded as Arsenal gained the ascendancy.
Phil Jagielka – 5: Often looked shaky at the back. Missed a guilt-edged opportunity from a corner to peg one back with 20 minutes left.
Ramiro Funes Mori – 4.5: Caught out in the build-up to the second goal as Bellerin’s pass looped over his head.
Leighton Baines – 4: Very quiet going forward.
James McCarthy – 4.5: Pinned back on the defensive for most of the game.
Mo Besic – 2.5: Did not look his usual robust self. Replaced at half time.
Aaron Lennon – 4: Like many of his team mates, off colour and could not get going.
Ross Barkley – 3: Had little to no influence.
Tom Cleverley – 3.5: Struggled to have an impact on the left and his crossing was disappointing.
Romelu Lukaku – 4.5: Tried to work his way into the game but was well marshalled.
Substitutes
John Stones – 5.5: Put in a fairly good shift in a rejigged back three after a slow start.
Gerard Deulofeu – N/A: Could not make an impact.
