Newcastle United
Robert Elliot – 4: A tough day out for the Newcastle keeper conceding 5 goals, although some of them might have been halted before they flew past him.
Daryl Janmaat – 6: Provided the assist for Cisse for the early and only goal for Newcastle. Had an incredibly difficult task dealing with the threat of Bolasie.
Chancel Mbemba – 5: A tough game trying to contain Wickham; his task was not adequately completed, with Wickham picking up three assists.
Fabricio Coloccini – 5: Will feel that he may have been able to prevent the Zaha goal getting to the net.
Paul Dummett – 6: Provided a massive deflection for the first of McArthur’s goals. Was able to deal with the threat of Zaha relatively well.
Moussa Sissoko – 5: Will feel that he should have provided more for Newcastle going forward because it was a fairly quiet game for the midfielder.
Jack Colback – 5: Provided a bit of cover for the defence however it was not enough to prevent the Palace onslaught. Was replaced by De Jong.
Vurnon Anita – 5: Was quiet in the midfield, not really providing any real substance in attack or defence.
Georginio Wijnaldum – 5: Was able to get into some decent positions but was closed down quickly by the Palace defence. He was replaced by Gouffran.
Papiss Cisse – 7: Was Newcastle’s best player, not just because he scored a goal; his constant work rate always threatened to provided something for Newcastle going forward.
Ayoze Perez – 4: Provided nothing for Newcastle, in fact his only impact in the game was to give away a free kick before he was replaced by Lascelles.
Substitutes
Jamaal Lascelles – 5: Came on at half time for Perez to help the defence, however he provided more for Palace by giving away a free kick that resulted in a goal. He then failed to clear the ball resulting in Palace’s final goal of the game.
Siem De Jong – 6: Showed promise going forward and combined well with Cisse on a couple of occasions.
Yoan Gouffran – 5: Replaced Wijnaldum and was unable to have any impact on the game.
