Crystal Palace have secured their first league victory against Newcastle since 1997 after coming from behind to win 5-1 at Selhurst Park on Saturday.
Things did not start the way Palace would have envisioned, with Papiss Cisse opening the scoring in the tenth minute. It did not take long for Palace to hit back with goals from James McArthur and Yannick Bolasie in quick succession in the 14th and the 17th minute respectively.
Palace added another two goals either side of half time through Wilfried Zaha and Bolasie, as they started to show the dominance that has seen them beat some of the bigger teams this year. The scoring was finished by McArthur scoring his second with virtually the final kick of the game.
The Eagles now move on the play Everton next weekend at Goodison Park, while Newcastle face another tough game against Liverpool at St. James’ Park.
