Newcastle United

Rob Elliot- 9.5: Without doubt, the man of the match. A lesser performance from the Englishman and Bournemouth could have snatched any number of goals.

Daryl Janmaat- 6: Newcastle’s attacking wing-back looked eager to make an impact, but was too careless with possession at times.

Chancel Mbemba- 5: A turbulent 90 minutes for the Newcastle centre-back, a couple of costly slips and poor tackle selections, but he still came away with the clean sheet to his name.

Fabricio Coloccini- 7: Did well to marshal Joshua King around and managed to threaten the Bournemouth goal late on.

Paul Dummett- 5: The man charged with the marking of Matt Ritchie, Dummett did a below standard job. Ritchie had opportunity after opportunity, all in space warded to him by Dummett.

Geroginio Wijnaldum- 5: Quiet for most of the game, Wijnaldum will be credited with the assist for Ayoze’s goal- whether it was intentional or not.

Cheikh Tiote- 6: Guarding the back four, Tiote was at times the only member of the Newcastle midfield pulling his weight.

Moussa Sissoko- 4: An absentee member of the Newcastle midfield, Sissoko struggled to match the pace of the game.

Vurnon Anita- 4: Looked to try his best but in doing so forced low percentage passes- many of which were picked off. Not what you look for in the center of midfield.

Aleksandar Mitrovic- 6: Struggled to get the service that he wanted from his midfield, but full credit to him for the back heel flick that ignited the attack and lead to the only goal of the game.

Ayoze Perez- 7: Didn’t play his best football over the course of the 90 minutes, but was strong when he needed to be and managed to power the ball past Federici.

Substitutes

Papiss Cisse- 5: Brought on for Mitrovic, but had a tough time influencing play.

Florian Thauvin- 5: Found himself in good positions but was wasteful with the ball at his feet.

Kevin Mbabu- N/A : Brought on in the 90th minute, to run the clock down.
