Striker woes at Villa

Four strikers played in this game and all of them were signed by Tim Sherwood this season. Obviously, none of them found the net in this match. Jordan Ayew is one striker of many that has underperformed this season, still yet to score. After arriving from Lorient for about £8 million, you would have expected the Ghanaian to have done better. Rudy Gestede is another forward that is at least used to English football, having played for Cardiff City in the Premier League, and for Blackburn Rovers in the Championship. He has performed the best out of all the strikers, scoring three goals in nine games. That is a respectable enough tally, but the problem is that no one else is scoring at Villa. Adama Traore is technically not a striker but still should be chipping in some goals as he plays on the wing. At 19, he is a player who is capable of doing things that only a few teenagers can do, but he has just came back from a big injury. He may not be able to provide a huge impact in his first year or two at the club. Jordan Amavi has also failed to score in nine games at Aston Villa. The Villans need an experienced Premier League-ready forward who they can rely on. Currently, they don’t have that at the club.
