Adelaide United

Eugene Galekovic – 8: Rarely challenged in the first half, he was booked late for remonstration. Spurred into action in the second half, saving an almost certain Vidosic goal after a dangerous ball fell at his feet.

Michael Marrone – 9: Contained the Wanderers’ front three with ease and swept across the Reds’ defensive line, keeping a close check on Bridge and Castelen. An excellent performance.

Dylan McGowan – 7.5: Suiting up in Red (or rather baby blue) for the 50th time, he was airtight defensively and disposed of the ball cleanly.

Iacopo La Rocca – 7: Playing against his former side for the first time, La Rocca looked to be struggling early but was a crucial cog in a well-oiled Reds defence as the game pressed on.

Craig Goodwin – 7: In his 50th appearance for the Reds, Goodwin was moved into left back with Tarek Elrich out. Initially struggled to contain Castelen, but with some help from La Rocca and Isaias he kept the Dutch winger reasonably quiet.

Isaias – 5: Couldn’t curb the influence of Andreu or Dimas on the ground as Adelaide preferred the aerial route.

George Mells – 5: Retaining his starting place in the side, Mells wasn’t a standout but didn’t lower his colours. Escaped a card for handball in the opening minutes.

Stefan Mauk – 5: In impressive form since crossing from Melbourne City, but quiet against the Wanderers, finding little space to run into. Replaced by Ochieng in the 85th.

Bruce Kamau – 6.5: Booked for simulation following a controversial clash with Reddy and booed thereafter by home fans, Kamau looked the most potent of Adelaide’s forwards, despite his side’s preference to go to Djite. Replaced by Dugandzic in the 75th.

Sergio Cirio – 7.5: Adeptly played in his attackers with the long ball as the Wanderers defended tightly in midfield.

Bruce Djite – 7: Got on the end of a Cirio pass and nearly had the ball on a platter for Mauk, if not for Andreu’s intervention. Was the focal point for his side and created his own space.
