When Jamie Vardy plays, people expect him to score
Much has already been written about Jamie Vardy and his fairytale story this season, as his rich vein of form has deserved much attention and widespread plaudits.
But underpinning his performances is an air of confidence, taking it upon himself to be the difference in games.
When watching Vardy last night, every time he touched the ball, there was an expectation that something positive would happen. It could be heard in the crowd’s reaction and the commentary at home.
It was not a matter of if Vardy would score, but when. This is despite shaking off a hip injury through the week.
Vardy now has the chance to break the record against Manchester United next week, a fitting stage should he achieve the feat. Despite United’s miserly defence, Vardy will be causing all kinds of headaches for the Red Devils.
