Tjaronn Chery is another attacking threat capable of scoring some goals, however, we have yet to see anything particularly brilliant from the man famed for his free kick ability. Being played on the left though, it would appear Ramsey is looking to Chery to create chances rather than take them. If he were to return to the middle, as was the case with his last club FC Groningen, Rangers might see some of the magic that has been missing from Chery’s game.

Though Chery, Phillips, Emmanuel-Thomas and Fer all have the individual ability to score goals, their ability to work together and with the rest of the team will perhaps best demonstrate how Rangers can deal with Austin’s injury. With their next match at home to Bolton, they have to opportunity to provide a consistent and varied threat moving up the pitch, but whether they take the opportunity or not is the real question. QPR will undoubtedly notice their star striker’s absence, especially since they concede nearly as much as they score.
