Technically gifted Bonevacia

This was a game in which Roly Bonevacia reinforced that he is a cut above his peers in terms of his class and technical ability. His touches were at times breathtaking and his well taken goal on the stroke of half time epitomised a hard-working performance of subtlety and brilliance. Despite the fact he was on the losing side at the full time whistle, expect this man to be a contender for Player of the Season if he maintains this form.

Passionate Carney banishes his 2014-15 season demons

David Carney emerged from the A-League wilderness to play a starring role for the Jets in this match. Scoring one and setting up another, Carney broke free from the shackles put on him by ex-coach Phil Stubbins, relishing his second chance to be his team’s top performer on the night. He earned a yellow card and almost headbutted Vince Lia, but his passion was clear, and he looks rejuvenated and enjoying another season at the Jets thanks to new coach Miller.
