Pelle in a rut

The Italian seems to be struggling with his goal tally in the Premier League, with his last goal coming against South Coast rivals Bournemouth on 1 November. His best effort in the second half was easily held by Hugo Lloris after Mane made a run through the middle. Prior to the game, Pelle went seven hours without scoring a goal in the league. That length of time now spans to eight and a half hours without hitting the target.

Dele Alli treading a fine line

The Spurs and England young gun needs to be careful after receiving a booking for an awful foul that was straight out of a lower league – you can tell Alli was in League One last year. The teenager has already been suspended for his build-up of yellow cards and was taken off by Pochettino late in the second half.

Saints fans unhappy

The stands began to look a little empty as Saints fans left the ground early, displeased with their team’s performance. The side and its loyal spectators are currently frustrated with the results. Southampton’s last victory in the Premier League came against Sunderland over a month ago at the Stadium of Light.

Their last win at home was against Bournemouth at the beginning of November. Their last seven games include the 1-6 demolition from Liverpool in the Capital One cup and a 3-1 loss to Manchester City.
