Hammers impress in win over Liverpool

West Ham’s incredible start to the season has slowed as the months have gone on, but they are still in a good position. The aim of being a Premier League club at the end of the season, ahead of their move to the Olympic Stadium for 2016-17, is within easy reach. Slaven Bilic’s team has converted itself from surprise packages into a side difficult to beat and this performance showed all the reasons why. Liverpool were outplayed in every facet of the game and deservedly beaten. Andy Carroll came back to haunt the Reds with a goal to make the scoreline safe and with Dimitri Payet back, the club can aim to get back to the free-flowing football of autumn.

West Brom climbing the table slowly but surely

For all the talk about West Brom being ‘negative’ under pragmatic manager Tony Pulis, they have now won two consecutive games and have won them playing attractively. After disposing of Newcastle, they went on to beat Pulis’ former team Stoke 2-1 to complete a double over them in the process. The win saw the Baggies move to within three points of the top half of the table and, like their previous game, saw them play higher up the pitch. Having Stephane Sessegnon in fine form allowed them to have an attacking threat from open play as well as set pieces. Despite still being unspectacular in their attacking renaissance, the Baggies remain as tough to beat as any team in the division.
