Robin van Persie-themed group headlines Europa League draw

The Europa League group stage draw has been announced, with Robin van Persie set to return to two former clubs.

Now representing Istanbul giants Fenerbache, van Persie will square off against old sides Manchester United and Feyenoord in Group A. Now 33, the Dutchman earned 61 appearances for the Rotterdam-based club and 86 for the Red Devils, either side of his stint at Arsenal.

Elsewhere, Southampton were handed a tough assignment in Group K, pitted against Italian powerhouse Inter Milan as well as Sparta Prague and Israeli side Hapoel Be’er Sheva.

The 2016-17 competition begins in September.
