A bidding war between two Premier League powerhouses may be in the works to bring AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato to England. According to the Independent, the Brazilian would prefer to sign with Chelsea, yet earlier whispers also linked him to Liverpool. At just £11 million it would be a good deal for either club, both in desperate need of a potent goalscorer to revitalise their seasons.

The Blues may be looking to enter a fight for another striker as well, namely against Inter Milan for the services of PSG’s Ezequiel Lavezzi. Eurosport says that the player’s agent has admitted to talks with the South Londoners, yet the Nerazzurri are displaying the most interest.

Premier League title favourites Arsenal have added to their ranks, with a £7 million deal for FC Basel’s Mohamed Elneny made official by Arsene Wenger after this morning’s match with Liverpool. The Egyptian will add some much-needed depth to the holding-midfield role and ESPN FC reports that he could be available to play this Sunday against Stoke.

With Manchester United once more unable to put in a convincing performance against Newcastle on Tuesday, Louis van Gaal needs to come up with quick answers to avoid total disaster. The Daily Express says that the Dutchman is set to turn to Dynamo Kiev defender Aleksandar Dragovic and that a £16 million deal is on the verge of becoming official.

Barcelona are once again free to throw their weight around in the global market, as restrictions put in place by FIFA are finally lifted from the Nou Camp. Yet Luis Enrique may also be looking to move on some surplus talent, with Spanish outlet Globo Esporte rumouring Dani Alves is the target of a big-money move to an unspecified Chinese outfit. The defender is set to be offered a €10 million a season contract in the coming days.

Paul Pogba is once again causing a stir in the transfer window, with no lack of suitors waiting to try and pry the star midfielder away from Juventus. Reports from Football Italia are suggesting that despite the long-term interest of Barcelona, Zinedine Zidane wants to make the 22-year-old his first signing at Real Madrid. A battle between two of the world’s biggest clubs for Pogba’s signature could hardly be a more tantalising prospect.

When you are 16, and a part of a starting XI in one of Europe’s top leagues, it is not going to be difficult drawing the interest of other clubs. This is exactly where AC Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who if the Metro is to be believed, could be targeted to become David De Gea’s successor at Old Trafford. As much as €40 million could be spent by Manchester United to secure the Italian prodigy.

Any hopes that high-profile clubs such as Arsenal and Barcelona had of signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may have been dashed over the last 24-hours, with Goal.com quoting the striker as re-iterating his commitment to Borussia Dortmund. “I am here and nowhere else, not at Arsenal, not at Barcelona and not on the moon,” said the 26-year-old.

Javier Hernandez has been tearing the Bundesliga apart since his arrival at Bayer Leverkusen at the beginning of 2015-16, yet it may only be a short stop for the Mexican. The striker told the media earlier in the week that he is uncertain of his future beyond the end of this campaign, yet Tribal Football says the comments do not worry those in charge at Bayer Leverkusen, with Chief Rudi Voller stating ‘Chicharito’ is not for sale.

Finally, talks of a move to Championship side Leeds United for Tom Rogic may have been premature, as BBC Sport says that his current club Celtic want to extend the Australian’s contract beyond 2017. Manager Rony Deila has also iterated a desire to hold on to the former-Central Coast Mariner.
