Napoli’s midfield could become their greatest asset
Allan, Jorginho and Marek Hamsik combined for a total of 13 tackles, nearly more than the whole Juventus team combined, the three were absolutely brilliant in midfield and were totally dominant against the reigning champions. While Hamsik does not look totally comfortable in Maurizio Sarri’s system, he will improve as the season goes on.
Allan, one of Serie A’s best performing midfielders last season, took control of the game and allowed his side to enjoy more possession than the Bianconeri, who really struggled trying to wrestle the ball their way. Jorginho looked like his old Hellas Verona self, having more time on the ball than anyone on the pitch (8.2% of match possession).
