Roberto Mancini changes tactics, gets the same result

The Inter Milan boss went into their match against Torino with a different formation in mind, one can only assume to battle the potential counter-attacking speed I Granata possess, especially the driving runs from their right-back Bruno Peres. Inter began with a 3-5-2 formation for the first time this season and the tactic seemed to have worked, with Torino being played out of the game.

An unattractive match at times, Inter Milan managed to take all three points, with Geoffrey Kondogbia scoring to ease some recent pressure on his performances.

Sami Khedira a contender for top Serie A purchase of the season

With Arturo Vidal, Andrea Pirlo and Carlos Tevez all departing the Juventus stadium before the season began and Claudio Marchisio struggling with injury, Sami Khedira has been a breath of fresh air for the Bianconeri and has become a leader in a young team.

Providing the German can keep injury free himself, Khedira is key to Juventus’ fight back to the top of the Serie A table, in which they are currently nine points behind current leaders Fiorentina.

Defenders rule in a thriller

In a match that just about had everything, Frosinone’s defenders decided to take up the battle against Genoa’s forwards.

Both Leonardo Blanchard and Modibo Diakite put their names on the scoresheet, Blanchard even assisting for his fellow centre-back’s goal. Surprisingly, Blanchard has found the net twise so far this season, being the second top scorer for Frosinone.

A first-half red card for Genoa’s Sebastien De Maio enabled the Canarini to take the lead by the break, before coach Gian Piero Gasperini was sent to the stands in the latter stages and Serge Gakpe added to the drama with an equalising goal.
