Premier League flops hoping to star at Euro 2016

With this year’s Premier League proving to be one of the most unpredictable in recent history, with Leicester City on the verge of claiming the title in the coming weeks, the performances of some of the leagues star men have also been less than predictable. The likes of Eden Hazard, Wayne Rooney and Olivier Giroud have all failed to live up to expectations with their club sides, and as a result will be looking ahead to this summers European Championships in France to make up for faltering displays.

Having inspired Chelsea to a league and cup double under Jose Mourinho last season, picking up the PFA player of the year award on the way, Eden Hazard has been a shadow of his former self this campaign. Just two Premier League goals, which both came in a recent victory over strugglers Bournemouth, are all the Belgian has to show for a season hampered by a distinct lack of form and injury setbacks. However, Hazard will travel to France this June looking to rediscover his finest form and in the process fire Belgium to their first European Championship success in their history. The 1980 runners up contain a squad filled with the quality to rival some of Europe’s finest, with the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Vincent Kompany and Alex Witsel complementing the skills of Hazard. Bookmakers Betway offer odds of 12/1 for Hazard and Co to come out victorious this summer.

Meanwhile, there have been calls for Wayne Rooney to be dropped from the England starting line up following their recent defeat of Germany. The likes of Harry Kane and Jamie Vardy starred in the absence of Rooney in Berlin, further staking their claim for a starting birth in France. To say Rooney has flopped this season is perhaps an overstatement. England’s all time leading goal scorer has suffered from injuries as well as being part of an inconsistent United side. However, with United nowhere near challenging for the Premier League title this season, Rooney will be looking to lead his country to Euro 2016 success. Betway will be covering all Euro 2016 betting markets and offer odds of 34/1 for Rooney to win the golden boot award at this summer’s tournament.
