Arsenal

Petr Cech – 6: Will be a bit disappointed to concede the second goal after he was beaten at his near post. Had to make a few saves and did well to tip over a De Bruyne free kick late in the match.

Hector Bellerin – 6: Used his pace to good effect as he bombed down the right-wing but could not produce a good enough delivery. Had a little trouble dealing with De Bruyne who often beat the young Spaniard with ease.

Laurent Koscielny – 6: Another solid defensive performance for the centre-back who had the tough task of handling Aguero.

Gabriel Paulista – 5: A few nervy moments from the Brazilian, as he did not seem to be able to cope with City’s attacks.

Nacho Monreal – 6: Preferred to stay back and defend rather than help out in attack. But he did a reasonable job in dealing with Navas.

Mohamed Elneny – 5: Not the best outing by the former Basel man. Had to be at his very best against a strong City midfield but was barely involved in the game.

Aaron Ramsey – 6.5: Was keen to move forward with the ball in the first half but sat deeper after Wilshere came on.

Alex Iwobi – 4: Below par from the youngster who did not play well enough to justify his selection in the first team over Theo Walcott.

Alexis Sanchez – 7: Once again the Chilean was his side’s best player on the pitch. Was quick to get on the ball when Arsenal moved forward and scored his 13th league goal of the season after some outstanding linkup play with Giroud.

Danny Welbeck – 4: Was subbed off with less than 25 minutes played due to injury and was replaced by Jack Wilshere.

Olivier Giroud – 7: Broke his long goal drought thanks to a well taken header and some shoddy defending. Combined well with Sanchez for Arsenal’s second.

Substitutes

Jack Wilshere – 5: Made a few darting runs from the centre of the park although many of them failed to produce anything.

Theo Walcott – 6: Changed the game after coming on and was a constant threat on the right-wing. Nearly scored after being one on one with Hart but put his effort wide.

Francis Coquelin – N/A: Brought in late on for Elneny to help see out the game.
