On the back of a record-breaking 6-3 win against the Brisbane Roar, Perth Glory striker Andy Keogh says his side are primed at making a late dash for the top 6.

The Glory sit just one point behind both Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory in seventh and will fancy their chances at toppling one of those sides given their Asian Champions League increased fixture toll.

Keogh told the Daily Football Show he’s had finals on his mind ever since he re-signed with the club in January.

“I’ve had my eye on the table since the minute I could play. I haven’t come here to not play finals.”

“We’ve got seven games left and my target is 21 points. It’s as simple as that really.”

Keogh hailed the club’s January imports as the key catalyst for the club’s turn around, with players like Shane Lowry and Krisztián Vadócz already having a profound effect on the squad.

“Yeah things are going well. We’ve been working very hard on the training pitch and it’s good to see it pay off during the game,” he said.

“The lads who have come in have been great and really made a difference.”

The Irishman also made an interesting comparison with Perth Glory and the second-tier in England, saying they could compete in the Championship!

“I think we’d be in Championship standard, maybe not top but middle Championship. The only difference is obviously the squads over there are bigger and if you get one injury you have a like for like replacement. Whereas here the squads are a lot smaller.”
