Gervinho (Roma vs Carpi)
The Ivorian played in a new role, spending most of the match playing as either the main or second striker. He, from this fresh vantage point, appeared everywhere and the Carpi defense had no answer for his pace. Gervinho put the sealing goal on the game after just thirty minutes, capitalising on a parry from the goalkeeper, after making a run through the middle of Carpi’s defense and beating the offside trap.
