Manchester City won their first league game in three attempts as a blistering second half display saw off a hapless Newcastle United side that remains winless and in the bottom three.
The Magpies started brightly and deservedly took the lead on 18 minutes when a header from Aleksandr Mitrovic had Newcastle fans dreaming of a first ever league win at the Etihad Stadium. However, City drew level just before the interval, before a rampaging start to the second half saw the Citizens score five goals in 13 minutes – four of which were from Sergio Aguero.
