Fernando Torres still has star quality
‘El Nino’s’ reputation may have been damaged by a tumultuous spell at Chelsea, but now that he is back home in Madrid, the Spaniard is somewhere near back to his best. Diego Simeone’s decision to select Torres ahead of the benched Jackson Martinez, Luciano Vietto and Angel Correa, who did not even make the match squad, raised an eyebrow or two, but his strike to open the scoring six minutes after half-time rolled back the years, streaking clear of the Barca defence and finishing with aplomb.
