Goal drought, what goal drought?
La Liga’s two star men both got-off the mark on Saturday and while he may not have matched Cristiano Ronaldo’s outstanding five goals and an assist, Messi is up and running for this season. Having scored for Argentina against Mexico in midweek, the ‘Little Master’ sealed all three points for Barca with a sublime finish with the outside of his left-foot after some sumptuous build-up play between Luis Suarez and Andres Iniesta. The goal took Messi to 287 La Liga goals, 26 clear of Telmo Zarra and 57 ahead of Ronaldo’s new tally.
