Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has said that Jurgen Klopp’s side are capable of finishing in the top four this season.

The 38-year-old player-cum-pundit was speaking to Goal.com ahead of the EE Wembley Cup, a gaming tournament focussed around the release of FIFA 17.

“I think it will go back to the norm. I know Leicester fans won’t like me to say that. I think the heavyweights will come back,” Carragher said.

“I’d expect the top four to consist of Manchester City, Man United, Chelsea and I think Liverpool might get in there.

“I just think the fact that Liverpool have got no European football, same as Chelsea, I think it’s a massive advantage they have over the others.”

The Merseyside club finished 21 points adrift of a Champions League spot last season, but were buoyed after an opening day triumph away to Arsenal.

However, familiar wounds opened up on match-day two, where Klopp’s side were unable to break down a deep-lying Burnley defence, losing 2-0, before managing a 1-1 draw against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.
