Brisbane Roar were denied the 2015-16 A-League Premiers’ Plate after a 0-0 draw with Melbourne Victory earlier tonight.
An edgy back-and-forth contest saw Brisbane pinning the Victorians back for much of the 90 minutes in search of 2015-16 silverware. The reigning A-League champions attempted to hurt the Roar on the counter-attack, but many ventures forward ended after disjointed passing or an offside run.

The visitors came agonisingly close just before the hour-mark when Jamie Maclaren was put through on goal, however, Lawrence Thomas produced a magnificent low save. The Victory would also come just inches away from stealing the win, when Oliver Bozanic’s deflected shot went just over the bar.
OFFICIAL MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
A nail-biting end to the match saw Thomas again produce an unbelievable point-black save against James Donachie and Thomas Broich also missing from inside the box, seeing the match end as a draw to the delight of Adelaide United.

@brisbaneroar won in every way except the bit about beating @lawrencet92 in goals. I'm furious but that was quality goalkeeping #MVCvBRI
