A late Vince Lia strike condemned 10-man Perth Glory to a 2-1 defeat in a cagey contest at nib Stadium on Sunday.

Both sides had good spells in what was a patchy contest. The Glory took an early lead through Gyorgy Sandor on seven minutes, only to be cancelled out moments later by Roy Krishna.

The match took many a late twist after Perth skipper Richard Garcia was given his marching orders for a second bookable offence. The situation was inches away from compounding for the home side only for the ball to ricochet off the base of the upright from the resulting free kick. Ben Sigmund netted the rebound but was flagged for offside.

When the Glory appeared to be safe, Vince Lia bobbed up to score a smart goal from a corner on 88 minutes.
