Liverpool have sealed a passage through to the semi-finals of the League Cup to face Stoke City after an impressive 6-1 victory away to Southampton.

The home side got off to a flying start inside a minute when Saido Mane nodded in from a brilliant Ryan Bertrand cross.
Jurgen Klopp’s men were shocked and under the cosh, but Daniel Sturridge announced his return to the starting lineup with a fine solo goal on 26 minutes.
And only three minutes later the injury prone striker had Liverpool in front, following a superb pass from Emre Can that meant Sturridge simply couldn’t miss.
Divock Origi latched onto a fiercely struck Alberto Moreno shot moments before half time and then fired in a rasping drive into the roof of the net on 69 minutes to put the game beyond doubt.
Substitute Jordon Ibe put the icing on the cake with a powerful strike and Origi then claimed a hat-trick with a fine headed goal, as Klopp’s side made it seven wins in their past eight matches.
Here is some of the best reaction from Twitter:
A fit Daniel Sturridge is easily the best striker in the Premier League! #LFC
