Manchester United and Jose Mourinho silenced any recent criticism with a 4-1 win over Leicester at Old Trafford earlier tonight.
Acting captain Chris Smalling’s 22nd minute header was the start the Red Devils needed, although few would have expected how easily they would run away with the contest.
Juan Mata and Marcus Rashford made it a comfortable lead, yet Paul Pogba’s first goal back in the Premier League put the result well beyond doubt before the break and had the home supporters in a delirious uproar.
Although Demarai Gray opened his Leicester account in the second half with a stunning curler, it would prove little consolation for the wounded Foxes.
Here are some of the best reactions to come from Twitter after the result:

United looks to be a much more potent side with Rooney sitting in the stands. Not sure how much he starts from here forward. #MUFC #MUNLEI

Demarai Gray is really quite good, United don’t need Rooney, and Pogba impressed— Molly Hudson (@M0lly_Writes) September 24, 2016
