Restructure to a 4-1-4-1

QPR’s current formation prioritises defence. However, considering their record this season, it may be more appropriate to simply outscore their opposition. A 4-1-4-1 could do just that, allowing for a greater attacking presence with Leroy Fer, Massimo Luongo and Alejandro Faurlin all available.

Fer is a shoe-in and will enjoy some nice interplay with dutch counterpart Chery on the left. Luongo, on the other hand, looked out of his depth against Fulham. However, his early-season displays should not be forgotten considering he only recently moved from Swindon. Linking up with the likes of Fer and Sandro in behind may in fact benefit the midfielder who Chris Ramsey seems to favour in an attacking position.

The other option is Faurlin. A fan favourite, Faurlin normally sits in as a defensive-midfielder, however, he has been known to score on occasion and can pick a pass.

Start Jay Emmanuel-Thomas

The former Arsenal man was a shinning light in Rangers’ 4-3 win over Bolton on 3 October. Starting due to Charlie Austin’s hamstring injury, ‘JET’ showed that is he more than capable of scoring goals and creating chances. Sitting on the sidelines is always frustrating for any player, but to come out on a league debut and score two well taken goals is no easy feat. On top this, JET also emulated Austin’s defensive work rate for the full 90 minutes. This one should be an easy decision for Ramsey.
