Palace again wasteful with their distribution
The Eagles were lucky to get the win given their inability to link up in the final third. Many of their passes were either going straight to Watford defenders, or going out over the touchline. This is the second week in a row that their passing in attack has been below the level that is needed to successfully create chances. Even the penalty was won by a miraculous run from Zaha, with the winger drawing a foul after being played into the path of two Watford defenders. Realistically, Palace only looked liked scoring from a set piece and, as it happened, their best opportunity of the game – outside of the penalty – came from a Cabaye free kick that found Hangeland in the box.
