Foul count really affects quality of game
The game started out at a frenetic pace, and it looked as if it was going be a chance-filled, end-to-end affair. However, after the first ten minutes passed, the game devolved into an eyesore, with both teams fouling each other repeatedly. Because of this neither team could build any real pressure, at either end, or create any good chances. As is often the case when 33 fouls and 8 yellow cards occur, the match suffered.
It really showed how a game that had, at one point, been looking like a potentially high scoring spectacle, can be stifled. It was a slightly disappointing match because of this ill-discipline and deliberate attempts to break up the flow of play.
