Problems are still there
Aston Villa are sinking more and more, recording an eighth loss in the last nine matches. Sherwood’s side is in horrific form, conceding the most shots on target from all Premier League sides so far and not being able to keep their net intact. The problems for their manager are coming from every possible direction and there is now every chance Sherwood will not be on the sidelines next weekend against Tottenham Hotspur.

Monk’s Swansea did manage a first win since August and now they must keep improving. The morale should start rising now and the Jacks must use that to make a step forward. Swansea are still looking prosaic, relying mostly on Montero’s crosses which barely ever find Gomis, yet this victory will be important mentally for the whole squad and the manager as well.
