EPL Transfer Talk – July 12th – Pelle departs, Tore and Hojbjerg sign

Southampton have confirmed that striker Graziano Pelle has left the club to link up with Chinese club Shandong Luneng. Since signing for the club back in the summer of 2014, the Italian international made 81 appearances, scoring 30 goals.

In further news for Southampton fans the Saints have confirmed the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from German giants Bayern Munich. The 20-year-old midfielder joins the club on a five-year deal after having spent the previous two seasons on loan at Augsburg and Schalke.

The Sky Blues are also reportedly closing in on another youngster, with the Mirror reporting that the club has reached a deal with Atletico Nacional to bring 19-year-old forward Marlos Moreno to Manchester. The report claims the Colombian will immediately be loaned out to Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna for the entirety of the 2016/17 season.

If clubs want to pry Dimitri Payet away from West Ham this summer, they are set to pay a hefty fee. Speaking to BBC’s Monday Night Club presenter Kelly Cates, club co-chairman David Gold has told the program that the club will not listen any offers under £50 million this summer, as the club “need to keep their best players.”

The Hammers have confirmed their latest summer signing however after announcing Besiktas winger Gokhan Tore has joined the club on a season-loan with an option to buy him for a fee of £10 million at the end of the loan period. The 24-year-old was one of the stars for the Turkish club last season as they claimed the Super Lig title.

In news which will be music to the ears of Tottenham and Borussia Dortmund, Liverpool have reportedly pulled out of the race for Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze. The Liverpool Echo is reporting the news as Spurs and the German giants hope to wrap up a £20 million deal for the midfielder in coming weeks.

Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is set to leave the club this summer after being deemed surplus to requirements by Jurgen Klopp. The Slovakia international is set to join Turkish side Fenerbahce on a £5.5 million deal according to the Mirror, a move which would end his eight-and-a-half-year spell on Merseyside.

The Daily Star are reporting via Italian Outlet Calcio Mercato that Everton have made a £25.5 approach for Juventus defender Daniele Rugani. The 21-year-old is touted as one of the brightest prospects at the club, however he fell behind the likes of Leonardo Bonucci in pecking order last season.

Newly promoted Burnley have suffered a double blow in their transfer plans according to the Mirror. The publication is reporting the club have had bids for Derby’s Jeff Hendrick and Brighton’s Dale Stephens rejected as the club look to add depth ahead of their return to England’s top-flight.
