Liverpool’s defensive crisis means that manager Jurgen Klopp is desperate to secure the services of Borussia Dortmund centre-back Neven Subotic, according to the Daily Star. The 27-year-old Serbian was signed by Klopp when he was at Dortmund, and although he’s only played four times for the Bundesliga outfit, the Reds boss is willing to take the risk.

The Telegraph believe highly-rated defensive midfielder Granit Xhaka could be on the move to Arsenal this window. The 23-year-old Borussia Mönchengladbach would represent adequate back-up to Francis Coquelin if the Frenchman were to suffer an injury during Arsenal’s title run-in.

Premier League heavyweights Manchester United have company from Chelsea, who are keen to swoop for the services of Gareth Bale if ESPN FC is anything to go by. The Blues believe they can seal a direct swap deal by trading out-of-form Eden Hazard for the talismanic Welshman.

Talented playmaker Isco has been subject of intense media speculation linking him to Manchester City for what seems an eternity. Goal.com have reported the 23-year-old cannot refuse the opportunity to work with new Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane, who was the Spaniard’s idol as a kid.

Sky Sports are reporting that Premier League striking sensation Jamie Vardy will be a January target for cashed-up Chelsea, Manchester City and Manchester United. Vardy is the league’s joint-top goalscorer with 15 goals and has two-and-a-half years left to run on his contract, yet the Foxes are yet to increase his £40,000 a week pay packet.

Fresh from their League Cup semi-final victory over Manchester City, Everton will hope to finalise a 3m deal for 20-year-old Shani Tarashaj on Thursday, according to the Liverpool Echo. The young Swiss striker is a bright prospect having matured with Grasshoppers and is seemingly a direct replacement for Steven Naismith if he is sold to Norwich City.

Saido Mane isn’t going anywhere this window if the Mirror’s information is correct, well until at least the summer. The Southampton striker continues to be a main target for Manchester United, but the Saints are holding firm and representatives are confident he will remain at St Mary’s until at least the summer.

Destined for the relegation zone? Well, not if Newcastle United can secure the services of Lyon’s prolific striker Alexandre Lacazette. The 24-year-old has reportedly snubbed the Magpies after a bid of £22m was accepted by the Ligue 1 outfit, according to the Daily Mail.

Australian playmaker Anthony Caceres looks poised to seal a dream move to English giants Manchester City, reports the Daily Telegraph. It’s not yet determined whether the 23-year-old will be loaned out immediately like former A-League player Luke Brattan, who joined the Sky Blues in late October and was sent to Bolton Wanderers.

And finally, Manchester United look set to cancel the season-long loan of Adnan Januzaj after a disastrous spell for Borussia Dortmund, according to the Manchester Evening News.
