Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Ragnar Klavan from German club FC Augsburg. The 30-year-old defender links up with the Reds on a long-term deal and will add plenty of experience at the back for Jurgen Klopp – having made over 100 appearances for his native Estonia.

While one player joins the Merseyside club, Adam Bogdan is on his way out to Wigan Athletic on a season-long loan. Bogdan has slipped down the goalkeeping pecking order at Anfield following the arrival of Loris Karius earlier this summer, who was brought in order to give Simon Mignolet better competition for the No.1 jersey.

The newly promoted Middlesbrough have continued their impressive run in the transfer window, securing former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo on a season-long loan. The 30-year-old will add a wealth of top-flight experience to the squad, having scored 112 goals during his time in the Spanish league.

Multiple sources are claiming Paul Pogba’s world record return to Manchester United is almost sealed, with only the finer details of the deal to complete. The Daily Mail claims United and the Frenchman have agreed to terms over wages which will see him earn £220,000 a week, while the Guardian is reporting his agent, Mino Raiola, will earn £18.4 million when the move is complete.

In more news for the Red Devils, the Manchester Evening News is reporting that the club are close to the signing of 17-year-old winger Joshua Bohui from Brentford. United is expected to sign Bohui on a three-year deal, after he ended last season as the top scorer in the Brentford academy.

Onto the blue side of Manchester and according to the Mirror Pep Guardiola is interested in a reunion with Toni Kroos – a player he managed previously at Bayern Munich. The Sky Blues are said to have launched a £50 million bid in order to secure the services of the talented central-midfielder.

The Daily Mail suggests Chelsea have rejected a bid from Borussia Monchengladbach to secure the services of defender Andreas Christensen, who is currently halfway through a two-year loan deal at the club. The 20-year-old is highly rated by the Blues, and he is widely expected to become a key figure in their defence in coming years.

Reports from the Daily Mail also suggest both West Brom and Hull City are interested in bringing Manchester United youngster James Wilson to their respective clubs this summer. The 20-year-old will only be allowed to leave Old Trafford on loan though, and the Premier League clubs will face further competition from Fulham to sign the striker for the upcoming season.

Georginio Wijnaldum’s possible move to Liverpool is looking even more likely according to the Sunderland Echo. Their report claims that the midfielder will not feature in Newcastle’s upcoming friendly against Doncaster Rovers, with talks between the clubs in the advanced stages.
