Comments attributed to David Luiz on social media have been labelled as false by the new Chelsea signing.

After the defender’s deadline day return to Stamford Bridge for a reported £35 million, Twitter account Sun Gossip published quotes of Luiz claiming he “wasted two years” of his career in Paris.

“It is like playing FIFA [the football video game] on beginner level,” the Brazilian supposedly said.

The statements were circulated online by other social media accounts Odds Bible Tips and Visubal, all of which were later singled out by Luiz in a Facebook post denying having taken part in the interview.

“I have a tremendous respect to all French Federation of Football, Football teams, players and supporters,” wrote Luiz.

“I never spoke with these accounts and I never gave an interview where I could [have] said this.

“I am not against freedom of speech and I recognise the value of fair publication. But be aware about the posts these social medias accounts been doing!”

The 29-year-old won two Ligue 1 titles and registered three goals in his 56 appearances with Paris Saint-Germain.
