Tottenham have announced the signing of midfielder Christian Eriksen to a new long-term deal which will see him remain at the club until the end of the 2019/20 season.

The Danish international will be one of the club’s highest earners alongside the likes of Harry Kane and Hugo Lloris.

“It’s gone really quickly, it’s my fourth season now and yet it doesn’t feel like that, it feels more like a second season and it’s more and more exciting,” the 24-year-old told the Spurs official website.

“There is a great future at this place and I wouldn’t have signed if I didn’t see that.

“It’s a very good group of people, players who connect with each other, staff who connect with the players and we all have an idea of where we want to go, and hopefully we’ll achieve it.

“If you feel there is a good project ahead of you, you will take the chance to build on it and that’s what we’re doing at Spurs.”

Since joining the club back in 2013 from Dutch giants Ajax, Eriksen has become a key player in the Spurs’ setup.

Last campaign was arguably his best as his finished with six goals and 13 assists.
