Premier League champions Leicester City have tied down manager Claudio Ranieri to a new deal, which will see the Italian remain at King Power Stadium until 2020.

Ranieri masterminded the most unlikely of feats last season, guiding the Foxes to a remarkable EPL title in the greatest underdog story in sporting history.

Less than a week out from the start of the new season, former Chelsea boss Ranieri has been rewarded with a fresh deal.

Looking ahead after the “magical” achievement, Ranieri believes Leicester can continue to be successful.

“From the moment I talked to the owners about their vision for Leicester City, I knew it was something I wanted to be part of for a long time,” Ranieri said.

“The energy that exists at this club – from the owners and the staff, to the players and supporters – is something very special. I am very happy and proud that I will be part of it for years to come.

“Last season, that spirit and our hard work helped us to achieve something magical.

“If we can continue to work hard, maintain our passion and continue to fight with all our hearts, I am sure we can continue to be successful together.”

The Foxes will compete in the UEFA Champions League and open their title defence in the league away to Hull City.
