The Walmsley revolution is truly underway at the Central Coast Mariners, with the club announcing that Isaka Cernak, Zac Anderson, Hayden Morton, Tom Slater and Dejan Pandurevic will not remain at the club for the 2015-16 season.

Cernak is the biggest surprise, having made 18 appearances this season and playing a major role in the first team under Walmsley. The 26-year-old will now attempt to revive his journeyman career elsewhere, having already played for seven Hyundai A-League clubs.

Central defender Zac Anderson made 83 appearances for the club since joining from Gold Coast United before the 2012-13 season and his departure suggests that Jacob Poscoliero will be in pole position for a starting spot next season alongside Eddy Bosnar. Anderson has been linked with a move to Sydney FC and former mentor Graham Arnold.

Right back Hayden Morton has been at the club since 2011, but despite making a few starts towards the end of the season the 21-year-old did not do enough to impress Tony Walmsley. With Storm Roux and Jacob Poscoliero both capable of playing in Morton’s preferred position, it’s little surprise that he was shown the door.

Youngsters Slater and Pandurevic have made little to no impact on the first team and their departure clears space in the squad with little impact on the wage bill.

In addition to the confirmed departures, it is expected that Hungarian Richard Vernes will be released by the club in the coming days.
