As the 2015-16 A-League Finals Series kicked off, Brisbane Roar ended the season of Melbourne Victory with a late 2-1 win in front of an enthusiastic Suncorp Stadium.

Here are three players who failed to make their mark.

Corona (Brisbane Roar) – The Spaniard managed to slowly improve as the match wore on, making a number of dangerous free-kicks towards the end of the second-half, but much like how a broken clock is correct twice a day, Corona was mostly unimpressive. The midfielder let the significance of the match get to him and allowed too many of his passes to be misplaced and significantly hurt the Roar’s structure.

Jason Geria (Melbourne Victory) – The young defender hurt his side more than he helped them, with an 83rd minute sending-off ending his night on a sour note. Having already been on a yellow thanks to time wasting earlier in the second-half, it was his late tackle on Thomas Broich that signaled the end of his match. His dismissal would ultimately help to decide the match, as Brisbane would exploit the extra man they had available and secure the win.

Corey Brown (Brisbane Roar) – Despite the match being of personal importance – it was the defender’s 50th match for the club – Brown was largely unimpressive, making a number of mistakes and allowing Victory to exploit his side for large portions of the early stage. While Brown settled down in the second-half, he failed to do enough to make any real positive impact.
